I am so happy to introduce to you, Martha the Unicorn. Isn't she pretty? She is the second of my crochet patterns i am sharing with you. Martha has a beautiful curly mane and tail which she likes to swish around in the sunshine! She also likes to play hide and seek, and loves hip hop dancing!
The pattern is available now on Ravelry here. It is a great one for newbies to amigurumi as the shaping is very easy to do. You can use any yarn you like really, just make sure your hook is small enough for the yarn so that the stuffing doesn't escape. I chose to use Alize cotton gold plus for this one, but i have also made it using Eco Cotton yarn from Lolly's Lil Wool Shack, both with a 3mm hook.
A stitch marker is handy to help you find the begining of rows, and all the usual equipment like stuffing, needle, scissors, hook, small amounts of yarn for the features. On this version of Martha i decided to do some coloured embroidery to jazz it up a bit. Make sure you do this as you go as it gets difficult to embroider onto the legs once you have finished crocheting the body.
So here you have it. I hope you enjoy making Martha. Again, here's the link to my Ravelry store where you can buy the PDF pattern. It features lots of pictures to help you along the way. Any questions, simply get in touch and i will be happy to help you!
